DC-5 Rules in the District of Columbia
The DC-5 game is owned by the D.C. Lottery. This organization was founded by the DC authorities in 1982. Along with DC-2, DC-3, and DC-4, it relates to the in-house lottery, and that means that only local residents can take part in them. But still, you can play other popular international lotteries, such as Powerball, Lucky for Life, or Mega Millions.
The key features of the DC-5 are:
- The minimum age is 18.
- There are over 120 winning combinations.
- The draws are held on a daily basis and twice a day.
- The revenue received from the lottery goes to the District of Columbia to support social initiatives, education, and public services.
Your prize amount depends on the amount of money you’ve paid for an entry as well as on the type of game you’ve preferred. That may be:
- Straight – all five digits you’ve picked must match exactly to win.
- Box – you win if all the selected numbers appear in any order. You may choose from several options, implying 5, 10, 20, 30, 60, or 120 combinations. For more information, see the table above.
- Back/Front – this playstyle implies an exact match for the first or last digits on the line. There are also some options, as you may choose 4, 3, or 2 digits to match in the draw.
And, of course, here are the rules of the game for you:
- Define the 5 numbers between 0 and 9 for the draw. You can tell them to the lottery agent or choose the Quick Pick option.
- Fill out the playslip marking a digit in each column.
- Select the drawing time (day, night, or both).
- Choose your preferred style of play (Straight, Box, Back, or Front).
- Pay $0.50 or $1 for the ticket. The second option will double your prize.
- Examine your winnings!
There are several ways to follow the results:
- the DCL website;
- Facebook and Twitter;
- on DC Lottery’s Lott Line number 202-678-3333;
- our page, where they appear immediately after the draw!
