Daily Cash Prizes and Odds

Lotteries are always exciting, but in Taiwan, you can try something special. Just participate in Daily Cash. The classical lottery game has rather nice prices and winning chances that can inspire anybody to try their luck.

Prize CategoryNumbers MatchedPrize Payout
Jackpot5NT$8,000,000
2nd4NT$20,000
3rd3NT$300
4th2NT$50

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 575,757. Additionally, note that there is a jackpot payout limit of NT$24,000,000. If there are fewer than three winners, you will receive the top prize at its maximum. However, if there are more winners, the jackpot will be divided equally among them, resulting in smaller individual sums.

In Taiwan, some lotteries, like Pick 3 and Pick 4, offer multipliers. However, Daily Cash does not. All prizes in this game are fixed amounts, so you know exactly what you’ll receive if your numbers win. While some players may find this predictability boring, others see it as an opportunity to test different lottery strategies. Either way, you can complement your Daily Cash draws with more flexible games on trusted and reliable online lottery sites.

Daily Cash Drawing Schedule

The name of the lottery may make you think you can count on at least seven Daily Cash draws per week, but here is a trick: there are only six of them here while Sunday is a day off. This day, you can spend a little time reading helpful books about lotteries or learning how number order impacts your win.

The Biggest Daily Cash Winners and Jackpots

Although Daily Cash doesn’t imply enormous progressive jackpots and breathtaking rollovers, the top prize of NT$8,000,000, or about $246.500, looks fantastic. We don’t know the names and stories of the luckiest participants because of the allowed anonymity after a lottery win. However, we believe the opportunity to receive such a sum inspires you to follow our lottery-winning tips and try your luck.

Daily Cash Rules in Taiwan

Daily Cash, also known as Lotto 5/39, is a widely favored Taiwanese lottery offered by Taiwan Lottery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CTBC Financial Holding Co., Ltd. created in 2006 as the only official provider of public welfare lottery in the country. The game is based on rather simple and transparent rules:

  • Daily Cash, along with the other Taiwanese games of chance, is available only to players 20 and older.
  • The entry is the simplest: pick five numbers out of 39 and match at least two. In advance, we recommend learning the Pick 5 strategy.
  • Every Daily Cash winner receives a fixed prize. You can always see the amount you might win.
  • The jackpot has a payout limit. You receive the full amount only if there are three or fewer top-prize winners.
  • Despite the name, Sunday is not the day to play Daily Cash.
  • Daily Cash is a game that can be tried by foreign players as well, but the Lottery sets some conditions to comply with if you want to claim your prize.
  • You can play the lottery online or with paper tickets.

Don’t have any doubts if you prefer to play paper tickets, as entering Daily Cash is a fish in a barrel, and you can do it just within a few simple steps:

  1. Visit any Taiwan Lottery retail location and ask the clerk to give you a play slip.
  2. Out of 39 balls, choose five numbers. There is a Quick Pick option, so you can prefer it for random selections.
  3. Define the number of draws you want to play in advance.
  4. Review your bet slip to ensure you’ve selected exactly what you intended, then return it to the lottery clerk and pay for your entry.

For Daily Cash players, online entries are also available. If you want to join them, download the Taiwan Lottery mobile app from the official website, register, and place your bet for the game.

The draw’s results are what many players do all of this for. If you want to be the first to see the charts, try some of these options:

  • bookmark the home page of the Taiwan Lottery official website; there, the winning numbers are published at around 10:00 p.m. NST on drawing dates;
  • the China Trust Lottery Management Department website is also a reliable source, but the results appear a bit later there, at around 11:00 p.m. NST;
  • entertainment lovers can visit the Taiwan Lottery Studio in Taipei, where Daily Cash draws take place six times a week;
  • the Taiwan Lottery mobile app is also a great way to keep the lottery and all its results at your fingertips.

We’ll certainly be delighted to showcase the winning numbers on our Daily Cash Taiwan results page, too. Stick around and take advantage of the helpful tools we’ve prepared to enhance your chances of success.

Taiwan Daily Cash Payout and Taxes

Winning the lottery in Taiwan is always great. Additionally, the terms of claiming are comfortable; initiate your claim process 10 minutes after the draw has concluded or submit it within 90 days of extracting the winning numbers. Don’t delay, as the lottery prize becomes unavailable when the ticket expires. Check out our table to learn how to claim your lottery prize.

AmountHow to Claim My Daily Cash Prize in Taiwan
Up to NT$5,000Experienced gamblers don’t waste time and just drop in at a Taiwan Lottery dealer, a China Trust Commercial Bank office nearby, or a designated CTBC financial organization to claim small prizes.
NT$5,000-NT$5 millionYou can redeem these amounts at the China Trust Commercial Bank offices or its designated financial entities.
NT$5 million and overIn Taiwan, large lottery amounts require a more careful arrangement. If you are among those lucky gamblers, contact the Taiwan Lottery Hotline at 0-800-024-500 between 09:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m. NST to clarify further steps. Additionally, you should be aware that the lottery processes prize claims within 3 days.
Winners from abroad

Daily Cash may also get you covered, even if you are a devoted gambler from abroad. However, there are some requirements concerning your stay in the territory of Taiwan if you want to claim a prize.

You must stay here for at least 183 days without moving outside the border. Still, if you had to leave, you must provide a residence permit and a passport at the moment you submit your claim.

As for the place to get your prize redeemed, go to the China Trust Commercial Bank (Stock) Company offices or its designated financial companies.

Be aware that Taiwan typically taxes large lottery payouts! This rule does not apply to prizes of NT$5,000 and over, but if you win just a yuan more, the withholdings will follow, and you must pay 20% income tax and stamp tax. If you prefer, you can have your prize amount calculated when you submit your claim at a TL point of sale or the CTCB office.
