Claim in Person

Claiming in person is very popular in Indiana, and if you are there, these ways are for you:

  1. Visit any Hoosier Lottery retailer to get your prize under $600 redeemed. Please note that some of them can only redeem small sums, so check everything beforehand.
  2. Turn to any of the HL Prize Payment Centers for winnings between $600 and $49,000.

If the amount you won is $50,000 or more, please call 1-800-955-6886 to make an appointment to claim your prize.

Claim by Mail

The Hoosier Lottery encourages its players to claim their amount by mail. All the required documents must be sent to

Hoosier Lottery Headquarters

1302 N. Meridian Street, Suite 100

Indianapolis, IN 46202

You can claim your prize by mail, no matter how big it is. However, the list of documents varies here. For smaller prizes, you will need just your ticket signed on the back, but if you got more, the winner claim form and the government-issued photo ID are required.

Please note that it takes the lottery staff between 7 and 10 days to process your claim, so you will receive your check a bit later.

  2. Don’t fill lines 1–6; just leave them blank.
  3. Complete lines 7–19.
  4. Read the data you wrote once again carefully so you don’t miss anything important.

Indiana Lottery Rules and Laws

The Hoosier Lottery was established in 1989. There have been some changes in the rules and the list of lotteries that the HL oversaw, and the process is on. The present pool of games consists of eight lotteries, and some rules are common to them all:

  • Playing lotteries is allowed if a participant is 18 or older.
  • Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash4Life, and Hoosier Lotto jackpot winners can choose between annuity payments and the lump sum.
  • There are some add-on options and multipliers for the HL players to make the game more engaging. They are EZ Match for Quick Draw and Cash 5, Superball for Daily games, Bullseye for Quick Draw, and +PLUS for Hoosier Lotto.
  • There are at least seven local TV stations that provide the draw broadcasts.
