Pick 4 Prizes and Odds

Easy to play and easy to win, Pick 4 is loved in many regions, and the Ontario province in Canada is not an exception. Twice a day, the devoted gamblers have a chance to hit the top prize of $5,000 and even more. They do it, as more than a hundred winners happen every day here.

4-Way Box Play (you bet on three of the same and one different digit)$1,2501 in 2,500 or 0.04%
6-Way Box Play (two different pairs of the same digits must be picked for the play)$8001 in 1,667 or 0.06%
12-Way Box Play (you join the lottery with a pair of the same and 2 different digits)$4001 in 833 or 0.12%
24-Way Box Play (all the digits picked must be different)$2001 in 416 or 0.24%

Ontario Lottery Games set a prize payout limit of $2 million for the overall amounts within a draw. If their sum exceeds the limit, the payouts are reduced proportionally. However, this amount is impressive, and you may follow our lottery-winning tips to get some of it. A good lotto strategy and a bit of luck are all you need to reach a prize.

Pick 4 Extra Prizes

There are no multipliers you may get used to on online lottery sites that we recommend. However, there is an Encore option that is famous for the majority of Canadian lotteries. It lets you add another million to your winnings. Add it to your game and get a 7-digit number generated by the computer. When the winners of the main Pick 4 draw are determined, the Encore draw takes place, and you can win in 22 ways here.

The Biggest Pick 4 Winners and Jackpots

Pick 4 may be on the list of the lotteries with the cheapest tickets. One play costs just $1, and the maximum prize that can be won at the stakes is $5,000. Though the payout seems to be considerable, it is not so large compared to the overwhelming prizes that can be won at some other games, like Powerball or Mega Millions, for example. Perhaps this is the reason why the names of the Pick 4 winners are usually not released on the official website.

Pick 4 Rules in Canada

Pick 4 is another numbers game belonging to the Ontario Lottery Games Corporation (OLG), a local lottery provider. The game went on sale on February 4, 2006, as a daily evening game, and in June 2012, the Midday draws were added. Pick 4 has preserved its rules and structure since then, and its present features are the following:

  • You may become an engaged Pick 4 player at the age of 18 or more.
  • To place a bet, you pick four digits between 0 and 9. The Pick 4 method may be helpful for you.
  • The Ontario Pick 4 offers two types of play and five ways to win. They are Straight play and 4-, 6-, 12, and 24-Box play.
  • The maximum prize of $5,000 can be won if you match all four numbers in strict order.
  • Pick 4 is a daily game, with two draws held daily.
  • The Encore option is also available for Pick 4, so you can increase your winnings several times.
  • You can play Pick 4 in-store or online.

If you find a special vibe in playing with paper tickets, just come and get it! The instructions are very simple here:

  1. Drop in at an Ontario Lottery Games participating retailer to get a bet slip for completion.
  2. Define if you enter a Straight Play or a Box Play.
  3. Choose four digits between 0 and 9. Use Auto Pick or keep to a special picking lottery number method if you like.
  4. Opt for ENCORE by marking the appropriate box.
  5. Decide on how many consecutive draws you are going to enter.
  6. Give your bet slip to the lottery clerk and wait a little till the ticket for you is printed.
  7. Wait just a couple of hours to see if you win something.

Online entries are also a good idea if you are fond of playing Pick 4. In this case, your steps are the following:

  1. Sign up to the OLG website and log in.
  2. Click on Pick 4 on the list of lotteries above and enter its official page.
  3. Choose Buy Tickets on the page above and wait until the play slip appears.
  4. Select the type of play and choose the digits, on your own or with Auto Pick.
  5. Add the number of plays you want. You can add up to four plays.
  6. Add the necessary number of Encore plays.
  7. Set your subscription options if you want to play further.
  8. Complete your purchase in the My Cart section.
  9. Now, the game is yours!

If the draw you took part in is over and its results are all you want to see now, note that you can use any of these methods:

  • visit the OLG official website, where the Winning Numbers tab on the Pick 4 page is updated twice a day;
  • watch the Pick 4 live draws on the official website;
  • download the official OLG mobile app or use another lottery software;
  • contact official retailers who have all the latest results.

In addition, you are always welcome on the Pick 4 results page, so stay with us to learn more about your favorite games.

Canada Pick 4 Payout and Taxes

We can hardly say that the Pick 4 prizes are big. However, they are not bad at all, so the winners are always eager to collect them as soon as possible! As usual, you are given 365 days to claim lottery winnings, and the options depend on the amount you were lucky to reach.

AmountHow to Claim My Pick 4 Prize in Canada

Claiming these amounts is very simple; just visit an Ontario Lottery Games authorized retailer and validate your winning ticket at the Lottery terminal.

Please note that the OLG participating points of sale can give up to $50 only. So, if you win more, the Ontario Lottery Games official locations are an option.

$1,000 and more

There are at least three claiming options for the Pick 4 winners to claim their prize:

  1. Online claim – for that, you are to fill out the Lotto Prize Claim Declaration (LCPD) on the claiming page and wait until you are invited to the OLG office to get your money.
  2. In person – visit an OLG retailer or call 1-800-387-0098 to figure out how to initiate your claim at the Lottery office.
  3. By mail – collect the documents requested, including copies of the front and back sides of your signed winning ticket, a copy of your valid identification document, and a completed Winner Claim Form. All the paperwork must be mailed to
