How to Use the Lottery Syndicate Payout Calculator

This calculator helps you determine how much each syndicate member receives after a lottery win. It handles taxes, fees, multiple prize tiers, and various payout structures.

Getting Started

The calculator is divided into two panels: inputs on the left and results on the right. Fill out the left side step by step, then click “Calculate Payouts” to see results.

Section 1: Lottery & Prize Settings

Select Your Lottery
Choose from 25+ lotteries worldwide, including:

Prize Type
Select what you won:

Payout Option
If your lottery offers a choice:

Enter the cash reduction percentage if choosing lump sum (typically 50–60%).

Gross Prize Amount
Enter the total prize money before any deductions.

Section 2: Taxes & Fees

Tax Brackets
Add tax rates that apply to your winnings:

1. Click “Add Tax Bracket” to create a row.
2. Enter the threshold amount (e.g., $10,000).
3. Enter the tax rate percentage.
4. Add multiple brackets for progressive taxation.
5. Remove brackets you don’t need.

Alternatively, add one bracket with threshold 0 for a flat tax rate.

Platform Fee
Enter the percentage your syndicate manager or platform charges (if any).

Fixed Fee
Enter any flat administrative fees in your chosen currency.

Charity Deduction
Enter a percentage if your group donates a portion of winnings.

Section 3: Syndicate Structure

Total Lines Played
Enter how many total lottery tickets your syndicate purchased.

Winning Lines
Add each prize tier you won:

1. Click “Add Winning Tier”
2. Enter the prize amount for that tier
3. Enter how many winning tickets at that tier
4. Remove tiers as needed

Total Shares
Enter the total number of shares in your syndicate.

Players
Add each syndicate member:

Split Method
Choose how to divide winnings:

Unfilled Shares
Choose what happens with unfilled shares:

Rounding
How to handle cents:

Minimum Payout
Set a threshold (e.g., $1). Payouts below this are held or redistributed.

Currency
Select your currency for display purposes.

Manual FX Rate
If converting currencies, enter the exchange rate.

Country of Taxation
Add a note about which country’s tax laws apply.

Calculating Results

Once you’ve filled in all relevant sections, click “Calculate Payouts” at the bottom.
The results panel will show:

Using the Results

Click “Copy Breakdown” to share payout details with your syndicate. This ensures everyone can verify that their payout is fair and transparent.

Reset the Calculator

Click “Reset” at any time to clear all inputs and start fresh.
